Coming off the traditionally slow holiday sales period, El Segundo, Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach and Redondo Beach recorded 103 homes sold in January, a 12-month low, according to the monthly Shorewood Report. Last January’s figure was 125 homes sold.

Among the major contributors were the Kiwanis and Rotary clubs, which donated their halls; Laidlaw Transport which provided transportation; chef Rick Hankus of Ocean Diner, who ran the kitchen with the help of Ted Nguyen; The Sandpipers and Moore & Associates Realtors who donated pies; Ray Riddle, who coordinated the entertainment, Balloon Affaire, which provided decorations and Manhattan Bread, which donated rolls and pies.
