The transition from top fashion model to top Realtor doesn’t seem as improbable to Dan Arguelles as it might to others.
“Both fields are very competitive, but I know I can’t get by on my good looks as an agent, so I work very hard,” said the Shorewood Realtor who once worked with legendary fashion photographers Richard Avedon and Herb Ritt.
Arguelles’ modeling career began in 1978 in New York.
“It was a heady time. I was in New York during the Studio 54 thing. You’d go out at night with friends and end up hanging out with Elton John and Mick Jagger. I was just a kid trying to make a buck and I was happy to be working,” he recalled.
Modeling for Gianne Versace and other top designers enable him to buy his first home in Glendale when he was 19.
“That’s when my interest in real estate began. But it wasn’t until last year that I decided to get my license and join Shorewood,” he said.
The Manhattan Beach father of three says his real estate career is progressing well, but he’s still not fully given up his day job. Arguelles is featured in Visa corporate credit cards latest print ad campaign.
