LA County ranking
Shorewood Realtors agent Raju Chhabria was recently named Los Angeles County’s top producing residential agent for 2005 by The Wall Street Journal. The Journal also recognized Chhabria as the 29th ranked agent nationally, based on his transaction volume of $159,859,900 last year.
“This is a tremendous honor for Raju and Shorewood, and he deserves all the accolades because he truly is our superstar,” said Shorewood general manager Mike Collins. “He is known throughout the area, and our industry, for his genuine concern for the clients and their interests.
The native of Bangalore, India emigrated to the U.S. in 1984, and joined Shorewood in 1994.
“Raju is an exceptional individual who has made a tremendous contribution to our business,” said Arnold Goldstein, founder and co-owner of the firm. “He’s also a very humble man, who attributes his success mostly to his team.”
Chhabria acknowledged his support staff, several of whom have been with him since before joining Shorewood. The team includes Chhabria’s wife Philomina, and several nephews.
“They really help keep me and everything else very organized, and organization is a key to this business,” Chhabria said.
Chhabria also praised Shorewood and his fellow agents. It’s a strong organization and there’s a lot of cooperation and support among the agents,” he says. “More than anything, they’ve given me the opportunity to do what I do best.”
Summing up what it is he does best, Chabbria says, “I help people get into homes. It’s a very service-oriented business, and we’re constantly focused on improving our service. It’s ultimately what sets us apart, and I think it says something that about 70 percent of my business comes from repeat customers.”
